The beauty of the bacon smash burger is its simplicity, with only a few ingredients needed to create a delicious and satisfying meal.

The smash burger cooking method involves taking a ball of ground beef and pressing it onto a hot griddle or skillet, creating a thin patty with a caramelized exterior and a juicy interior. The result is a burger that is packed with flavor and has a unique texture.

The bacon double cheeseburger recipe is a delicious take on the classic smash burger. It features two thin, crispy beef patties with melted American cheese, crispy bacon, caramelized onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and tangy pickles, all sandwiched between soft brioche buns.

One of the key factors in making a great smash burger is the quality of the ingredients. It is recommended to use freshly ground beef from a reputable butcher, as opposed to pre-packaged ground beef from the grocery store. The higher fat content (80/20) ensures a juicy and flavorful patty, while the brioche buns provide a soft and buttery contrast to the crispy exterior of the patty.

The cooking method for a smash burger is also crucial to its success. It is important to use a hot griddle or skillet, preferably cast iron, to ensure that the patty gets a crispy crust while remaining juicy and tender on the inside. The patties are seasoned with salt and pepper and then pressed down firmly with a flat spatula to create a thin, crispy patty.

Once the patties are cooked, a slice of American cheese is added to each patty and allowed to melt. Crispy bacon is cooked separately and added to the burger, along with tangy pickles. The brioche buns are buttered and toasted on the griddle or skillet, and the burger is assembled by placing two patties on the bottom bun, followed by the bacon and pickles, and finally the top bun.

The result is a delicious and satisfying bacon double cheeseburger with crispy, caramelized patties, melted cheese, and savory bacon. This burger is a great option for a quick and easy dinner or for entertaining guests. It can be served with a variety of side dishes, such as fries, onion rings, or a simple side salad. Enjoy!

Notes

Tips:
  • Use high-quality ground beef. The fat content of the ground beef will affect the flavor and texture of the burger. A higher fat content will result in a more flavorful and juicy burger.
  • Form the ground beef into thin patties. This will help the burgers cook quickly and evenly.
  • Cook the burgers over medium-high heat. This will help the burgers develop a nice crust.
  • Don’t overcook the burgers. A medium-rare burger is ideal.
  • Use good melting cheese! A good melting cheese, such as cheddar or American, is ideal for smash burgers.
  • Top the burgers with your favorite toppings. Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and ketchup are all classic burger toppings.
  • Serve the burgers on toasted buns. Toasted buns will help the burgers stay together and will add flavor.
