  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • sesame seeds optional for garnish


  • Rinse 1 cup of rice under cold water in a mesh strainer or bowl and gently mix the rice and water, draining consistently until the water is no longer cloudy.
  • Add 1 cup of rice, 1 1/4 cup of water to your Instant Pot. Close the lid and turn your venting knob to sealing. Pressure cook on high for 3 minutes and then Natural Release for 10 minutes. After the Natural Release, turn the venting knob to venting to release the pressure and open the lid.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add sesame seeds (optional) to garnish. Oishii!
